Every year, Plowden & Smith staff choose a charity that holds a personal significance to them. The names of the charities are put into a hat and one is drawn at random – whichever charity is selected becomes the target for our fundraising efforts for the year. In 2017, the company organised bake sales and marches to raise £1896.05 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, supporting the charity’s work building state-of-the-art diagnostic centres, operating theatres and drug development units.

This year, Plowden & Smith’s charity is Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder which causes some organs – mainly the lungs and digestive system – to become clogged with mucus and currently there is no cure. Cystic Fibrosis Trust works to improve the quality of life for those who are affected by this condition. Their work involves raising awareness, increasing availability of clinical trials, and ensuring that all patients and their loved ones receive proper care and attention. We are really excited to be working with them throughout 2018 and are currently planning our first fundraising activity of the year.
